Kristen Leslie Paul
What we should call you: Sarah.
How long have you been roleplaying?: Between 2 and 3 years.
Character:
Canon or Original? Canon.
Name: Kristen Paul.
Age: Fourteen.
Grade: 9th, Freshman.
Date of Birth: March 20th, 1993.
Clique if High-School: Jock.
Appearance: As a 5'3 blonde with a cute butt, remarks getting thrown her way from guys are no strangers to Kristen. With a lean, yet athletic figure, she is often complimented on her body and Of course, she's noticed by guys because of it. Remarks are constantly made; whether they're rude or flattering, Kristen laughs them off. Pale, straight blonde hair cascades down past her shoulders and lands around her middle-back area.
As a person who loves to switch up her style, Kristen will curl her hair on occasion and straighten it to be pin-straight, and/or, she'll wear it in a fancy up-do and accent it with a headband or a butterfly clip. Her hues glow a soft brown whilst her eyebrows are plucked perfectly in a slight 'v' shape. A double piercing is found on both of her ears, having done the second one herself; normally, Kristen will wear studs in one piercing or both.
Her style of dress ranges from casual to preppy, to edgy and funky. Jeans and a tee is her most common outfit to be found clad in, while sweats and a cute sweater are another personal favorite. Sunglasses usually linger over her eyes and a smile is almost found on her naturally, golden skin.
Personality: Kristen is one of the most laid-back, generous people you will possibly ever meet. Whether she's giving advice to friends, supporting and donating to local charities or being so humble about her many talents in various sports, Kristen is outstandingly remarkable. It's almost as if she has time for everyone, anyone and everything that needs or seeks her support and/or help.
However, Kristen is not always Little Ms. Sunshine. There will be, and are, days when drama happens, causing Kristen to act like a bitch to almost everyone, excluding teachers. She can't exactly control it - unless around a teacher - often due to the fact that she acts on instinct and simply blurts whatever comes to mind. Nonetheless, she's far better than most of her fellow classmates when it comes to gossiping behind others' backs, particularly in a crude way. Sure, Kristen's gossiped before, but she has barely said a word compared to most of the other girls;; often when in a bad mood, Kristen will gossip intentionally, yet later on, she will regret it completely.
Unlike most of the girls in her class, Kristen is not the one found on the cheerleading squad or the gymnastics team. She's found on the sports fields, whether it be playing lacrosse, soccer, basketball or even swimming, Kristen does it all. This is the main reason why she has recently fallen into the jock clique - and certainly another reason why she's getting noticed by guys a lot more. Although, Kristen's not the biggest flirt, and is somewhat rebellious to how the entire clique system works. She's certainly not one to take no for an answer, and almost always has a challenge or backfiring statement to any demand or request.
These very mixed sides of Kristen's personality make her a very unique person to get to know. Getting to know the many sides of her personality is half the fun. =]

History: Kristen Leslie Paul was born on March 20th, 1993, to her parents, Amanda and Christopher Paul. Growing up, Kristen lived in fairly quaint house, conveniently located in southern Wisconsin. It wasn't until four years after her younger brother, Jay, was born, that the family would move to Paradise. This is where Kristen and Jay would enroll in the public elementary school, middle school (where Jay is currently still in), and high school; this school was none other than Paradise High.
The one issue about her seemingly-flawless family would have to be Christopher Paul. When Kristen was only seven years old, her father became an alcoholic; she never was able to find a reason why this happened, but her mother doesn't seem to have the knowledge either. Perhaps it was depression or maybe even stress-related, who knows, however. In any point, Mr. Paul would refuse to go to work sometimes, causing many problems for the business and countless times where he was to lose his job. Instead of going to work, whenever his wife was out, Mr. Paul would beat his kids senseless whilst holding a bottle of whisky in his hand; a smug smirk would grace his features and a drunken slur would be lathered in his tone. "You good for nothing slut," he would say, the tone chilling Kristen's spine. At the time, of course, the word "slut" was not in her vocabulary; but that didn't matter. It was the way that he treated her, the way he talked to her and the notion that this was her own father, made her fearful.
For someone so young, she was surprisingly smart and sophisticated. There was an idea ebbed in the back of her mind: this isn't right. He shouldn't treat me the way that he is treating me. And I have to tell mom. And so, Kristen did tell her mom. Many quarrels and nasty name calling followed suit, and she often cried herself to sleep with the notion that it was her fault; she must've caused this. If she had just taken her father's beatings, there would still be peace. But no, there was a solution: Mr. Paul could only see both Kristen and Jay for the holidays and their Spring Vacation. His visits would have to be monitored, and his liquor license would be confiscated if he dared drink, drive or beat his children again. So, things have gotten a bit better since then...but of course, Kristen can't be the happy, go-lucky girl that begs her dad for money, or goes out to get some ice cream so she can spend time with her dad and make silly jokes. No. Kristen, unfortunately, doesn't have a relationship her dad.
Needless to say, besides the conflict with her father, growing up, Kristen was a tomboy; but at the same time, she loved to be girly and wear skirts and cute dresses. When she was only in Kindergarten, she happened upon meeting her long-time best friend, Markus Menagassi. The two just seemed to click when their eyes happened upon one another, and it didn't hurt that he was beyond cute. However, Kristen was too young at the time to know what having a crush on a person even meant. As the two grew up, she considered him to be her best friend, one that she could always go to to talk about anything; whether it be something that happened that day or something troubling her with her dad, Markus was always there for her. It's never occurred to her that he would ever have a crush on her, as she has always viewed them as best friends; in fact, the thought's never crossed her mind, sadly. But the two have a strong relationship unlike no other.
As Kristen began to grow up, innumerable changes began to happen. Her first kiss took place with one of her childhood crushes, Derek, at the young age of ten, and at the time, Kristen was becoming more girly. She began to wear makeup around the age of thirteen, her style completely changed, and as she moved schools, she widened her interests and friends. At the same time that all of this was happening, Kristen had been taking up soccer outside of school, basketball during school in the winter, playing lacrosse at school in the spring and attending a softball camp in the summer. In her spare time, if Kristen ever had any, she would spend time swimming competitively, as her mom used to do so when she was growing up. As her mother had an expertise with backstroke, Kristen is following suit.
Meanwhile, Kristen's relationship with her younger brother went from countless fights to care and concern. As both she and her brother started to grow up, Kristen began to realize just how much she would miss seeing him at school when she graduated and moved on to Paradise High. At home, their frequent quarrels seemed to stop over a short period of time and they began to look out and support one another. As for Jay, he had a passion for playing the guitar and playing shortstop in baseball. Since Kristen knew quite a good chunk of knowledge on the game of softball, she would often give him pointers and tips. It was around this time that Jay had really begun to look up to his older sister; it also didn't hurt that more than half of his friends had a crush on her and were constantly asking him for her cell phone number! And gosh, they are only eleven. (:
For now, Kristen has settled in nicely into Pardise High, her best friend, Markus, still by her side. The two have managed to stay close after all these years, which is something that Kristen treasures beyond what words can describe. As her passion for sports continues to grow, Kristen can only have more windows full of opportunities open for her as her journey to college will creep up faster than she can expect. Needless to say, four years will fly by, and with a good, steady grade point average and a variety of different skills and sports talent, Kristen will hopefully be gold to get into the college of her choice. But that's all a while away, and for now, she is just living her life...as Kristen Leslie Paul. =]

It was raining, she realized too late. No, that was an understatement. The sky was pouring oceans down on her and the rest of Wisconsin. As she stood there, looking quite exasperated at the wetness of it all, she contemplated going inside again. What was the point, however? She was already wet and inside her house, things wouldn’t be anymore entertaining than when she had just left it. With another shrug, Kristen decided that maybe the loud clattering of the rain hitting the glass of the greenhouse was a better sound than the silence of her lone house, and even her own thoughts.
And so, she descended down to the lake, adjacent to her neighbor's yard; she stared at it from a distance. She liked how the rain was rippling it violently, as though it was punished the vast amount of water for being there. As it should. Kristen didn’t like the lake, never had. Despite her unique swimming skills, she often feared of drowning by her lonesome. Only the following day would a human discover a washed up body on the shore, her dead body. This fear lingered in the back of her mind and encased her skin with goosebumps.
With a sigh, Kristen looked up at the huge beech tree a safe distance away from the lake, and grabbed onto a low hanging branch, dangling from her arms as she let her chin fall on her chest. Her eyes opened wide and her hands lost its grip on the branch as she discovered that her white blouse that she was currently clad in had become very translucent due to the horrid weather. “God, gravity is a hard habit to shake off,” she decided, rubbing her hip where it had, only moments ago, connected with the ground. “And you, blouse, are supposed to conceal me, not show me!”
