Usually Jessika and Joshua came to McDonald's once a week. Jess wasn't all that fond of the place herself, but she came here because he was. Usually she was here before him, but for some reason, he was here today before her.
He reasoned though that Ian was probably distracting her. He was slightly envious of his older sister's relationship with her boyfriend. Ian was his older sister's best friend, as well as boyfriend. And he reasoned that that was how relationships should be. Sometimes he wished that he could adore a girl the way that Ian adored his sister. But, he was just a bad boy, who couldn't seem to care about much of anything.
It wasn't true though. He did have quite the soft side. A side of him that he generally only showed to Jess. And he knew that he should be better. He knew that Jess was slightly stressed because of his lifestyle. He'd been hanging out with some guys that had been sent to live in town. They'd been apart of a gang where they had once lived. Probably not the best crowd. But, he didn't really seem to fit in with the good people either.
Joshua ordered a couple of burgers, fries, and a drink, and then a chicken wrap for his sister, and went and sat down at a table to wait for her.

Jessika had been with Ian, but she always made sure to make time for her younger brother too. Especially considering that she was worried about him. He wasn't hanging out with the best people lately.
She entered McDonald's, and smiled when she saw him sitting at a table. He had already ordered. But, he'd gotten her a chicken wrap. That was really one of the things at McDonald's that she really liked. It wasn't too horrible though. But compared to the diner, the burgers weren't anything to brag about here. Paradise's diner's burgers were really something to brag about. But, Joshua liked to come here because it was usually a lot less crowded. Less people to stare and gossip about him, she supposed. She came over and sat down.
"Hey you," she said cheerfully, as she reached over and grabbed her chicken wrap, and stole some of his fries.

Joshua grinned as his sister got there, and took some of his fries. That's what he'd forgotten for her, fries. Oh well. And once again, he was amazed that he was siblings with Jess. For one thing, the two didn't look really at all alike. And for another, their personalities were like night and day. In spite of that, Joshua cared more about his sister then anyone, really.
"Hey yourself," he responded with a grin.
"Been with Ian, I suppose?" he asked. In spite of how overprotective he was, he truly thought that Ian was alright. He treated his sister really good. So, that made Ian cool in his book.

She nodded at his question as she took a bite out of her chicken wrap. She chewed and then slowly swallowed.
"Yeah, but I still figured that I'd be here before you. Turns out, I was wrong," she said with a laugh. She couldn't help but smile at the thought of Ian. She just couldn't help it. She had it really, really bad. She was so in love. But then, it had been that way for awhile. Still, it constantly amazed her that she'd been lucky enough to be the girlfriend of Ian. And if anything, she just fell more in love with him each day.
"So, what's up? Done anything fun so far today?" she asked.

"Yup, you were wrong. You tend to lose track of time when you're mooning into the eyes of that boy of yours," he teased with that huge grin of his.
Joshua started eating his food, and shrugged at his older sister's question. He finished chewing before responding.
"Not really. Classes aren't too fun. But then, I've never really been all that fond of school like you are," he responded.
"Isn't that party of mom's coming up?" he asked, trying not to grimace as he said this. When she wasn't working at the hospital, she was throwing parties for those snobby friends of hers. It got annoying really. And he was expected to go to most of them.

She started laughing at her brother's words, but she knew that he was right. It was really like that. When she and Ian were around each other, it was like every one else just disappeared. She listened to his response about classes, and wasn't all that surprised. She wished that he would get more into school, but there were other good things that he was into.
Another laugh escaped as he asked about the party that their mother was throwing. She hated them as much as Joshua did. And ocassionally she had Jessika drag Ian to them. She got him out of them as often as she could. But whenever she did get him out of them, her mother tried to set her up with the snobby rich guys. There was only one guy for her, and that was Ian. Only problem was, her parents hadn't come to realize that yet.
"Yeah. It's next Saturday. And I don't think we'll be able to get out of going either," she said with a slight grimace.

Josh wrinkled his nose as Jess said that she doubted that they'd be able to get out of it.
"I hate those parties. At least she makes it up to us by letting us throw our own," he said, and then took a huge bite out of his burger. He sat there chewing at it, remaining silent. After he'd chewed everything he looked at his sister again with a smile.
"So, I take it we're going to have to go shopping for some party clothes? Can I get you to talk mom into you two just doing my shopping for me? Those shopping trips are torture," he said grimacing again as he thought about those stupid shopping trips again that he was forced to go through for practically every party. And his mother threw a lot of them.

"Yeah, it's true. She does always make it up to us," she agreed. Not that Joshua was very fond of her type of crowd. He got along with them fine, but he'd rather bring the people he hung out with into the house. The people that Jess didn't get along with. In spite of this, the two siblings didn't fight over which people to invite. He usually invited some of his friends, and she hers. It was such a big house that the two crowds could normally avoid each other.
She started laughing at his words.
"I'm sure I can talk mom into just me and her doing your shopping for you," she replied with a nod. She then started eating her chicken wrap, falling into silence.
